The Promise

Standing side by side on vast pre-mortal plain?

Where noble spirits linger to depart to earthly main.

Did we make solemn promise there?

Endeavouring to bring? the children of our Father home

 To be with HIM again?

Our earthly journey takes us far through many a tide and time.

Ofttimes we fail to understand, the reasons or the rhyme.

Oft days are sad and lonely,

 The road is dark and far;

The veil our Father drew in love,

Oft hides the nearest star.

Then kind Father hear our prayer;

 Send thy sweet spirits glow,

Help us to find thy precious lambs

Whilst searching here below.

Teach us, show us hidden wisdom, leave us not alone,

Guide us, thou most Holy Shepherd,

 Claim us as thine own.

Kind Redeemer

When we walk through darkest night, when we feel life's bitter sting,

Kind Redeemer, Saviour, King you're the one that makes us sing.

When confusion, error, sin, close all doors so we can't see,

Oh, then Lord of all Creation, you taught truth that sets us free.

When we need someone to hold us, when we bend beneath life’s care

Oh, then Saviour, proven friend, you’re the one who’s always there.

When the raging sea is tossing, when our boat drifts on its own,

Oh, then captain, navigator, you’re the one to guide us home.

I'm going home

I'm going home, I'm going home,

To meadows green with flowers over grown.

Soon I'll be there, soon I'll be there,

Back home with you were all is fair.

Back home where all is joy, is Pease,

Where earthly fears and sorrow cease.

Where all I hoped through life I'll find.

Where thoughts are gentle, folks are kind.

Where fountains sing sweet lullaby

And sunbeams play in azured sky.

Blue birds chirp the whole day through

Soon, soon I'll be back home with you.

Back home where I behold your face,

One’s more to feel your warm embrace.

Oh, hear my plea Lord, see me through,

Until I’m back, back home with you.

Don't leave me here where I'm alone,

Don't close the door, I'm coming home.
