Ingrids Auswahl - Ingrids Poetry (135)

                                          A Promise

Our dear Lord has promised

He would return some day

To bring sweet peace and harmony

Chase all our fears away.

Ingrids Auswahl - Ingrids Poetry (134)

Loneliness is the biggest load our world carries on her back

Lack of care in human hearts will some day break her neck.

There needs to be an increase of love

To heal the worlds wounded soul

There needs to be a loving touch

To make broken nations whole

We need to cast our Anker into Christ’s word

Until faith has taught us to kiss a striking Lord

                                                           The Picture

A picture hangs outside in the hall
It’s small, a print, not much value at all.
“But” whenever it catches my eye,
It sets me of thinking, I wish to know why?
The light and shadows so skilfully planned,
Like joy and sorrow in a master’s hand.
Skilfully outlined each part there shown.
For the lessons of life all must claim as their own.
The sunlight over the meadows green
Tell of happy days, tell of joys supreme.
Events that make a life worth living,
Of children’s laughter, the joy of giving.
Noble thought’s you helped to impart,
To a sister, a brother or strangers’ heart.
Yes, the sunlight there makes me belief
God created man much joy to receive.
Shadows and dark lines to serve their goal,
For without them poor and empty the soul.
Shadows and dark lines, there for a reason
Adding deeps to lifetimes fleeting seasons.
Eyes filled with tears, conquering strife
Make us reach for things that give purpose to life.
Or the mysteries of life we are left to wonder
Whilst here on the earth and the sky we’re under.
There’s a picture outside in the hall,
Mother one’s gave it, did she realise at all?
That whenever it seems to catch my eye,
It set’s me off thinking and I don’t know why.

Running away

1 Running away from my life, running as fast as I can
Running where ever too destiny leads me now,
Running away from a man.
Chorus:
Love, love please leave me alone, don’t want to know you no more
Sweet peace come back again, let all things be again, just as they were once before.
2 Brought up to do what is right, I know this love’s must not be,
Love oh please set me free, this game is costing me.
My soul, my children, my home.
Chorus:
3 Just like an innocent child, blindly I fell for your charms
Let ev’ry word you said fill up my heart, my head
Let life begin in your arms.
Chorus:
4 Now as I’m looking at truth, counting the loses, the gain.
There is a war inside, one restless, endless fight
Bringing me nothing but pain.
Chorus:
Where is the person I knew? Once so contented and free.
Loving her work, her play carefree each new born day
It’s all I’m longing to be.
Chorus:

I need to

I need to face another day, another day without you
I need to face the road that meets the sunset on my own.
Whilst all around I see the things that ever tell about you
Thus, constantly reminding me-----your gone

I need to sing another song, another song without you
I need to find the harmony we used to be alone
Still I can hear the happy tunes we used to sing together
Thus, constantly reminding me your gone.

I need to dream another dream, another dream without you,
I need to find the light that shines within me all alone.
Whilst golden cords of friendship try to find you
My dearest friend, the one I know has gone.

Sweet sanctuary

I always seem to end up here in this sweet sanctuary,
I always seem to end up here, alone, with only me.
In this small place, so peaceful, a world that’s truly mine,
This place, this space so silent, where time’s hard to define.
Where I can think and ponder, or say a little prayer
Where I can cry in anguish, wishing you were there.
Where I can laugh at memories, or have my soul’s complaint,
Where I can lie in solitude, when I am feeling faint.
Where harmony is found, and lines are soft
Upon my wondering mind,
Where dreams take place, and hopes are made
When you I cannot find
Where seasons I see while years pass by
And new sweet songs appear
Whenever tragedies fall
Or joys are found, Yes!! I always end up here.
And where’s this place? You ask me now
Where all my secrets bloom, I tell you softly—
This small place is the sanctuary of my room.

A song, the Guitar cords are there but I do not recall the tune

My Sailing ship (The Gospel)

I own a Ship, a Sailing Ship, her Banners are unfurled.

Her name is Truth and Freedom, I sail her round the World.

I like to sail from Sea to Sea to Lands of ev'ry Clime,

And tell the People everywhere about this Ship of mine.

Her Mast is called the Gospel so plain to ev'ry View.

A mast that stands so bold and strong for me! And yes, for you.

A Mast that will not bend nor break, as Time and Storms go by.

The Gospel true restored to Man, by Angels from on High.

Her Sails are Faith that ever wings towards the azured Sky.

Set out to catch the winds of Faith, as Time and Storms go by,

Oh, let that Faith on Eagles Wings, take flight across the Sea,

Oh, let that Faith on Wings of Hope return my God to Thee.

Her steering wheel are humble prayers, that keep the Course aright

With courage strong, and trusting Heart to keep the Goal in Sight.

His unseen Hand directs the pass-through stormy Night and Day.

Reminding onward ever more, be humble as you Pray.

Her Compass are the Golden Rules, laid down since Time began.

The Lord calls them Commandments, he gave them unto Man

He wants us to be Happy, He wants us to be True

He wants us to come back to him He loves us me and you.

Her Deck are sacred writings put down in holy Books

For every Plank there is a Page come see, come read, come look.

How great the love and wisdom? He gave to Man below

As on the Deck of Truth and Light and Knowledge we may go.

A Ship must have an Anchor one that will never fail

The Cross shall be her Anchor as she sets out to sail

The Anchor to rely on as Storm and Cloud appear,

The Saviour to depend on will banish every Fear.

You ask what is her Cargo?

within her Bow and Hold?

My Friend draw close, see for yourself

No Merchandise of Gold.

The Treasures I would choose to bring

Our Mortal Eyes can’t see.

Their names are Love and Faith and Hope

Are Joy and Charity.

Had I a wish, a single wish, I know what it would be!

That all God’s Children round the World, would own a ship like me.
