She
Poor health took her hopes away
Silently glides through each day
Love and Joy have left, have gone
Withdrawn, she’s left all on her own.
Outdoors a long-lost memory
Sketched upon the hungry soul
The sight of Flower, tree or star
Once so adored, now gone so far.
Her own despair, her own belief
That life on earth is but a thief,
The well-known tasks of daily care,
No longer she has strength to bear.
Knows the Hospitals white walls,
The x-ray stations, waiting halls
Doctors, Sergeants, C I U
Where learned men their skill pursue.
Fixed the heart so it will beat
New lungs so they can breathe
The stomach is beyond repair
But! Oh, to live folks need to eat.
Oft whilst I’m on my knees in prayer
Asking God that "HE" somewhere
Grant her a place where she will be
Secure throughout Eternity.
